Advanced SSTP Shielding

The SSTP (Shielded Shielded Twisted Pair) construction provides enhanced protection against external electromagnetic interference and crosstalk.

Depending on the selected construction, the cable can incorporate individual foil shielding around the twisted pairs together with an overall braided metal shield. This type of S/FTP-style construction is widely used for shielded Cat6A cabling and high-speed network applications.

The enhanced shielding makes Cat6A SSTP particularly suitable for environments containing electrical equipment, power cables, motors, or other potential sources of electromagnetic interference.

A typical Cat6A construction uses 23 AWG solid copper conductors, with 100 Ω nominal impedance. Commercial Cat6A S/FTP products commonly use 23 AWG copper conductors and are specified for 10GBASE-T applications.

Different conductor gauges and constructions can be customized according to project requirements.
